COMPUTER BASED INSTRUCTION (CBI) PROGRAM
1. The Cessna CBI is a
complete flight-training package. Each kit has everything a
student needs to complete the necessary training. The Cessna
CBI includes 27 CDs, a comprehensive textbook, integrated
flight maneuvers, training syllabus, 172 manual, logbook,
flight computer and plotter, regulations on CD,
FAA standards,
integrated practice exams, student database, and kit bag.
Students do not need to purchase anything else.

Horizon the credentials necessary to train students in less
time, saving money, and allowing the school to be used by
international students, military programs, or any other
program requiring a certified school.
3. Cessna CBI is a fully integrated system. Each detailed
flight lesson is integrated with computer-based training
allowing the student to ''fly the lesson? on the computer with
actual in-flight video footage. Cessna CBI first reviews the
preflight, ground lesson, then covers all the flight maneuvers
in subsequent lessons. By knowing and understanding all the
maneuvers and topics which will be introduced in upcoming
flight lesson, students are more confident and better prepared
for each lesson, allowing them to advance more quickly through

automatically. Each flight instructor knows, at a glance,
which items need to be completed for each flight, which items
were successfully completed, and which items are to be covered
in subsequent flight lessons. By knowing which questions were

instructors will be able to track areas that students may be
having difficulty and offer remedial training as necessary.

can complete standardization of training be insured for all
students.
6. CMM also includes a student database, which enables the
flight school to track syllabus progress by both student and
flight instructor. By knowing where students are in their
training, the flight school can smoothly transition to another
instructor in order to maximize training efficiency. The
database has the additional benefit of tracking students who
have lapsed in their training giving Horizon the opportunity
to call and remind students of their progress.

Cessna CBI includes interactive practice exams. An exam
follows each training segment and when students miss a
question, they are automatically directed back to a permanent
section of the lesson for additional review before retaking
the exam. There are also extensive exams at the end of each
training course that are designed to be similar to the actual
FAA exam questions.

ground school, which can replace classroom-based or
textbook-based instruction. Students learn fundamentals,
maneuvers, flight information, and theory. Unlike other
